Following the success of his designs for the wedding of TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, floral designer Shane Connolly is delighted to be at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show this year.

On Monday May 23 at Stand D7, Shane Connolly & Company, in conjunction with TENDERCARE Nurseries (who supplied the regal trees used at Westminster Abbey), will demonstrate the potential for using growing trees and plants to bring an air of natural elegance to any occasion and event with a cool, green, thoughtful design.

Shane said: "The choice of the trees including British natives Beech, Box and Yew is to showcase the most innovative use of seasonal, native, beautiful trees that would make a dramatic contribution to any event.

“In addition, of huge importance to me, each tree and plant has their own meaning. The Beech has a very romantic symbolism, of a lovers’ tryst. To include that within your wedding day and then plant it, is sentimental in the truest sense."

The trees were specially selected for their superior quality, their delicate branching and maturity.

Each Shane Connolly & Co commission reflects a commitment to natural, British seasonal plants and organic, environmentally responsible growing. Throughout his career, his ecological and sustainable approach has always been to use growing plants rather than cut flowers- an approach that is now capturing the mood of the moment and resulting in innovative displays for events, weddings and parties.
