Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, visited Plumpton College in Sussex yesterday.
The Duchess met Stephanie Willoughby, head of floristry at Plumpton, in one of the floristry suites and chatted with students and staff, who showed her the range of floral arrangements being created for the college open day on Saturday 14 May.
Stephanie said: “We were thrilled to meet her royal highness. I explained that, on the open day, visitors will see the Diploma students’ work on decorating St Michael’s church within the college estate, as if we were hosting the royal wedding for Prince William and Kate Middleton. Also, Level 3 students are creating a scented and colourful four-poster bed of flowers, fit for a king, plus archways for one of our students to sit under and play her harp. It promises to be a great family day out!”
