Neil Whittaker with his BFA Florist of the Year trophy Neil Whittaker with his BFA Florist of the Year trophy

After much concern over whether Great Britain would be represented at the Europa Cup in September this year the BFA is delighted to announce that, following months of hard work, Neil is on his way to the Czech Republic this September.

The BFA have made funds available and these have been matched by their main partner sponsor of the event, Country Baskets. With additional donations from Interflora and Lantra and the monies expected from, as well as already pledged to, the BFA100 Club the finances are more or less there.

Commenting on the announcement, president of the BFA, Mark Ward said: "I am delighted that Neil is able to go and represent Great Britain at this very prestigious competition, which not only raises the profile of professional floristry but inspires other up and coming designers too. We are extremely grateful to Country Baskets. Steve Wood, managing director was very keen to back us in making sure Neil represented Great Britain. We still need a little more money towards Neil's costs and we hope that now we've confirmed that he's going more florists will be encouraged to join the BFA100 Club and help him to bring the Europa Cup back"

The exclusive BFA100 Club aims to get 100 like-minded florists and companies to support the BFA Florist of the Year, Neil Whittaker in his endeavours to win the prestigious Europa Cup in the Czech Republic this September.
