Flying Brands grew sales but Flowers Direct will make a loss Flying Brands grew sales but Flowers Direct will make a loss

Flying Brands, the parent company of mail order service Flying Flowers, which purchased Flowers Direct earlier this year, has posted a 12% leap in sales – but warned that Flowers Direct will make a loss this financial year.

Profits for the group’s Gardening Direct arm – which sells bird food and seeds – are also likely to be below target.

Sales in the three months to 1 October were £5.6m, compared to £5m over the previous year.
