Judges need to demonstrate the right level of technical understanding and personal skills to handle the world's toughest competitions.
The UK Floristry Judges Guild will begin their first new judges training programme in November this year with training seminars and shadow judging exercises continuing throughout 2011.
The first round of new judges will face exams and graduate in the summer next year.
The intensive training seminars will cover all aspects of floristry judging and will build up and enhance judging skills and techniques. There will be practical marking sessions coupled with discussions and evaluations to prepare for the written and practical examination.
Judge will need to demonstrate exceptional practical and theoretical knowledge of floristry plus excellent communication skills and a high degree of professionalism, according to the Guild.
“The UK Floristry Judges Guild has made an impressive start and in our second year I am pleased to announce the start of new judges training and to welcome new judges into our guild,” said Tracy Tomlinson, chairman of the UK Floristry Judges Guild.
Places on the course are limited. Application forms can be downloaded at www.bfanationaljudgesguild.org Closing date for applications is 30th September, 2010.
