Chelsea Clinton requested flowers that were “organic and natural” and that would match the ceremony’s outdoor surroundings at her $3 million wedding, it has been revealed.
For the nuptials, which took place at the Astor Court Estate in Rhinebeck, New York, the Clinton daughter wore a £16,000 Vera Wang dress and carried a simple bouquet of white Gardenias, with the men wearing white Freesia boutonnieres. Chelsea exchanged vows with the groom, Marc Mezvinsky, under an arch decorated with white Roses.
Speaking to UsMagazine.com, Jeff Leatham, the celebrity florist tasked with meeting Chelsea’s requirements, said: "The space was amazing - right on the Hudson River. It was very important [to Chelsea] to keep it organic and natural...The theme, floral wise, was organic, clean, simple and elegant.“
The exact details of the wedding were a closely-guarded secret, leading to weeks of media speculation which will doubtless fuel the desire of less-famous brides to copy the former Miss Clinton’s floral choices.
